Jo Morey - The Night Lagoon - An Author Event

Set against the majesty and mystery of the Belizean jungle, The Night Lagoon is a twisty, searing journey of raw love, betrayal, corruption, and greed.
For fans of The Paper Palace, Where the Crawdads Sing, The Beach, or The White Lotus. Debut author Jo Morey lives with a hearing impairment and constant tinnitus. Jo wanted to crack open the isolation of the condition in the book, weaving it brilliantly into the cacophony of the jungle setting through her protagonist, Laelia, who is hearing- impaired. She is happy to discuss this subject and shine light on her condition.
Jo Morey is a graduate of the Faber Academy and the Curtis Brown Disability Mentoring Scheme. Finally giving in to her wanderlust, she took a break from her executive career to travel the world. She soon fell in love with Belize, a place that enchanted her like no other. And between the captivating beaches and remote beauty of the jungle, the seeds for this novel began to grow. Jo now lives in West Sussex, at the foot of the South Downs with her husband, Will, two boys and two Portuguese Water Dogs.
